"Red Hot Mamas" Coming to Magnitogorsk, Russia

The Magnitogorsk Drama Theater (MDT) will close their season with Victor Weber's Russian translation of "Red Hot Mamas" in the final two weeks of June 2018. Performances will take place June 22, 23, 29 & 30, under the direction of MDT's Artistic Director Maxim Kalsin, assisted by Helga Weiser as Assistant Director. The Magnitogorsk premier follows hit runs of the show at the Gorky National Academic Drama Theater in Minsk, Republic of Belarus and the Academic Drama Theater of Tula, Russia. The show will feature Honored Artist of Russia Tatyana Bashtanova as Cheryl Casey and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Mikhair Nikitin as Russ Niari. Tatyana Busygina and Elena Lukmanova will alternate in the role of Abby; Igor Panov will take on the role of Dan. Petr Ermakov, Andrei Berdnikov and Nina Filonova will round out the cast in the rolls of Peter Mason, Stan Walker ad Claudia Adams respectively. Natalia Pavlova of St. Petersburg will serve as set and costume designer. The play will return in September and run in repertoire for the 2018-2019 season.
